The name TKA is derived from the designer's abstract initials—an intentionally anonymous name. If you have confidence in the quality and design of the product itself, you don't need to rely on a brand name or logo to create presence. This philosophy is a quiet homage to lessons learned in the ateliers, and it remains the essence of TKA.
TAKASHI NAKAO
Founder / Designer
Born in Tottori, Japan, he discovered his passion for fashion through the influence of his sister, a fashion school student. After graduating from university, he moved to France to study fashion, eventually working under Haider Ackermann as an assistant for seven years. He then designed for over a decade at Bottega Veneta, Lanvin, Louis Vuitton, and Maison Margiela. In 2023, he founded TKA, a Paris-based brand focused on dresses and outerwear that incorporate the cutting techniques and craftsmanship of French couture.
